Social media users are circulating a clip purportedly showing a room full of euro banknotes in the home of Theodore Orji, a senator in Nigeria's Abia state.

2018 Art Installation in Spain

The clip originally depicted a 2018 art installation in Spain. 

Spanish artist Alejandro Monge hand-painted the notes. 

On February 27, 2019, Monge uploaded the circulating video to his Instagram.

Accusations Against Theodore Oji

Since his arrest in 2021, Senator Theodore Orji, the former governor of Abia State, has been the subject of misinformation.

By members of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Orji was taken into custody in August 2021.

Senator Orji was investigated for misappropriating public funds and money laundering by the EFCC.
