Misbar investigated the circulating claim and discovered it to be false. 

Roberto Firmino did not announce his retirement on any of his official social media accounts.

Moreover, Misbar did not find any credible media outlet reporting the news.

The Brazilian player, on the other hand, posted a statement on his Facebook and Instagram accounts in response to his exclusion from the roster of participants for the Qatar World Cup 2022. 

He did not mention his retirement from international soccer.
