The official website of the United Kingdom has travel recommendations for 226 countries, including Turkey.
The alleged warning statement was taken from the "Terrorism" section of the UK's official website's "Foreign Travel Advice."
The British embassy tweeted that temporary closures and city travel may affect Istanbul, but no other warnings were issued.
Istanbul Blast
According to Turkish authorities, at least six people were killed and 81 were injured in an explosion in a busy area of central Istanbul.
The explosion occurred on Istiklal Avenue around 16:20 local time (13:20 GMT).
The bomb that exploded on a busy pedestrian avenue in Istanbul is thought to have been planted by a suspect who has been detained by police.
According to Turkey's interior minister, initial reports indicate that Kurdish militants were behind the deadly attack.
