Jimmy Fallon Death Hoax on Twitter
This is not the first death hoax stunt pulled by Twitter users. Earlier this month, Misbar investigated a viral claim alleging that the former U.S. President Donald Trump passed away.
The satirical nature of the claim is clear, especially since Twitter users accompanied the hashtag “RIPJimmyFallon” with photos of different celebrities including Jimmy Kimmel and James Corden.
Fallon proved that he is alive and well by tweeting at Musk: “Elon, can you fix this? #RIPJimmyFallon.”
Elon Musk’s War on Misinformation
Following Elon Musk’s Twitter buyout, the billionaire asserted that he would wage a war on misinformation on Twitter.
Several Twitter users have undermined his statements by sharing fake or misleading claims.
