Sadio Mané’s 2017 Injury
The photo was published by the Daily Mail on April 11, 2017.
Sadio Mané is seen leaving a private hospital on crutches after undergoing surgery.
Mané's left knee cartilage was damaged as a result of his collision with Leighton Baines during the Everton game.
Mané required surgery, making it "pretty much impossible for him to play again [that] season," according to Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp.
Mané's eight-week injury ended his first season with Liverpool.
Sadio Mané’s Recent Injury
In accordance with a statement from Bayern Munich, Sadio Mané suffered an injury to the head of his right fibula during FC Bayern's 6-1 win over Werder Bremen.
According to FC Bayern, additional tests will be conducted on Manés injuries in the coming days. FC Bayern is also in contact with the medical team of the Senegalese Football Association.
Will Sadio Mané participate in the 2022 World Cup?
Sadio Mané will not play in the 2022 World Cup despite being named to Senegal's squad on November 11.
Sadio Mané has been officially ruled out of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 due to an injury sustained during the match between Bayern Munich and Werder Bremen.
In a video posted on Thursday to the official Senegal Twitter account, Manuel Afonso said, "Unfortunately, today’s [Thursday] MRI shows us that the improvement is not as favorable as we imagined and unfortunately, we have to withdraw Sadio from the World Cup." He also said that surgery would need to be done soon.

The image surfaced ahead of the 2022 World Cup, which is set to begin on November 20.
On November 11, Senegal announced the roster of players that will represent the country at the 2022 World Cup.
Senegal's first World Cup match will be against the Netherlands on November 21.
