Misbar investigated the circulating claim and found it to be misleading. FIFA did not announce terminating its contract with Budweiser, the beer company sponsoring the World Cup. Moreover, Budweiser did not share any news of a breach in contract.
No Alcohol in World Cup 2022 Stadiums
On November 18, FIFA announced that there will be no alcohol served in World Cup 2022 stadiums. FIFA released a statement that reads: “Following discussions between host country authorities and FIFA, a decision has been made to focus the sale of alcoholic beverages on the FIFA Fan Festival, other fan destinations and licensed venues, removing sales points of beer from Qatar’s FIFA World Cup 2022 stadium perimeters.”
Budweiser Will Give Beer To Eventual World Cup Winners
The FIFA World Cup sponsor Budweiser announced that the beer that was meant to be sold inside stadiums would go to the winning side with a tweet saying: “New Day, New Tweet. Winning Country gets the Buds. Who will get them?”
