World Cup Organizers Ban Alcohol Sales at All Stadiums
On November 18, FIFA announced banning alcohol sales to the fans near the eight stadiums of the World Cup Qatar 2022 after several discussions with the host country that made FIFA change its policy two days before the start of the tournament.
“Following discussions between host country authorities and FIFA, a decision has been made to focus the sale of alcoholic beverages on the FIFA fan festival, other fan destinations, and licensed venues, removing sales points of beer from Qatar's FIFA World Cup 2022 stadium perimeters,” said the FIFA's statement.
The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022
The claim circulates as Qatar hosts the 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup with the participation of 32 football teams from different nations. The tournament started on November 20 and will last until December 18, 2022.
Misbar has previously addressed other claims about alcohol at the World Cup stadiums in Qatar.
