Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar investigated the circulating photo and found it to be fake.

The Central Bank of Argentina did not make such a claim, and no official media outlets reported it.

Moreover, the Messi banknote design in the photo was digitally created.

Will Messi be Featured on the Argentina Banknote?

Users speculated Lionel Messi's image would be on the 1,000 peso banknote because the number must start with "10."

Lionel Scaloni, Argentina's coach, has won the Finalissima, the 2022 Qatar World Cup, and the Copa América in 2021, earning him a place on the banknote.

The Argentine Central Bank "jokingly" suggested this, according to El Financiero.

However, the most enthusiastic directors, including Lisandro Cleri and Eduardo Hecker, agreed that a banknote with this design would awaken the collecting spirit of Argentines.
