During the Christmas of 2022, social media users and media outlets shared photos of Paris Saint-Germain player Kylian Mbappé dressed as Santa Claus and distributing gifts to refugee children.

Misbar investigated the circulating photos and found the claim to be misleading.
After conducting a reverse image search, Misbar found the photos making the rounds to be outdated and unrelated to the 2022 Christmas.
Mbappé Dressed Up as Santa Claus in 2019
On December 22, 2019, Paris Saint-Germain invited 240 children to the "Paris Saint-Germain Foundation - Children First" match.
The children were able to watch PSG's 4-1 victory against Amiens in the final match.
Nasser Al-Khelafi, the chairman of PSG and the Foundation, and Kylian Mbappé, who acted as Santa Claus for the event, surprised the kids by giving them gifts.
Other PSG players such as Thiago Silva, Edinson Cavani, Ander Herrera, Presnel Kimpembé, Pablo Sarabia, Colin Dagba, Layvin Kurzawa, Marcin Bulka, and Eric-Maxim Choupo Moting attended the event.
The children were given VIP access as they entered the locker room and watched the hosts warm up before the game.
The photos were also uploaded to Getty Images at the time.
On December 25, 2022, Kylian Mbappé posted a photo on his Instagram account of himself and his brother in front of the Christmas tree.
