Misbar investigated the circulating video and found the claim to be fake.
The official Twitter account of Haramain Sharifain quoted the National Meteorological Center, explaining that the viral video is fake.
The Arab weather Saudi Twitter account also clarified that the video is digitally altered using filters to show snowfall at the place.
The account also stated that the temperature in Mecca reached 30 degrees Celsius on January 1, 2023.
