Although the sinister rumor is strikingly illogical, it has gained a significant momentum.

Several fact-checking platforms debunked the claim, yet it continues to be shared.

Pelé Passed Away

The claim began to circulate after Pelé passed away.

Pelé, the Brazilian football icon, passed away on December 29 at the age of 82.

The medical center where he was hospitalized for the last month reported that he died of multiple organ failure as a result of the cancer.

The FIFA, fellow footballers, and fans all over the world paid tribute to the departed football legend.

The legend Pelé became a superstar after his performance in the 1958 World Cup. Pelé played professionally in Brazil for two decades and won three World Cups.

He was named FIFA co-Player of the Century. Diego Maradona and Pelé were joint winners of the award.

Pelé was awarded the International Peace Award in 1978 for his work with UNICEF. He has also served as a United Nations ambassador for ecology and the environment.

Many consider Pelé to be the greatest football player of all time.
