Misbar investigated the circulating photo and found the claim to be misleading.
After conducting a thorough reverse image search, Misbar’s team found the photo making the rounds to be outdated and unrelated to Ken Block’s fatal accident.
A Fatal Snowmobile Crash
On March 4, 2022, the photo was first published in a New York State Police press release about a snowmobile crash.
The New York State Police were called to a snowmobile collision on Rector Road (Trail C5B) in the Town of Montague, Lewis County.
The police's investigation revealed that a 2016 Polaris snowmobile operated by Charles C. Eldred Jr was traveling eastbound and a 2012 Polaris snowmobile operated by Nicholas J. Klym was traveling westbound when they collided head-on.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.
Ken Block Died in a Snowmobile Accident
Ken Block, an American motorsport legend and YouTuber, died in a snowmobile accident in Utah at the age of 55.
According to the local sheriff's office, Block was riding a snowmobile up a steep slope in Wasatch County, Utah, when the vehicle overturned and landed on top of him.
He was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of his injuries.

Ken Block is an American racing legend and a YouTuber.
Block is also a co-founder of the skatewear clothing company DC Shoes.
Since 2005, Block has been a competitive rally driver, winning Rally America's Rookie of the Year in his first season and going on to win rallycross medals at the X Games and podium finishes at the World Rallycross Championship.
He also participated in other extreme sports such as motocross, skateboarding, and snowboarding.
Block had a YouTube channel, where millions of people watched him navigate dangerous tracks and obstacle courses in a variety of vehicles.
