Mexican security forces captured Ovidio Guzmán-Lopez. Guzmán-Lopez is an alleged drug trafficker and the son of former Sinaloa cartel boss Joaquín Guzmán known as El Chapo.
The arrest sparked a wave of violence. During and after the arrest, 10 soldiers and 19 suspects were killed
Various gang members have protested the arrest. The rebels set up roadblocks, set fire to many vehicles, and attacked planes at a local airport.
