Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar investigated the circulating video and found the claim to be misleading. The video dates back to at least 2021.

After conducting a reverse image search, Misbar’s team found that the video was shared via YouTube in October 21, 2021 with a headline that reads: “Samaa headlines 1pm | Lahore mein Multan road per factory boiler phatne se aag lag gayi | #SAMAATV.”

A still shot from the video was also featured in a 2021 article reporting the same factory boiler explosion in Lahore, Pakistan.

2021 Factory Boiler Explosion in Lahore 

In October 2021, a boiler of a beverage factory located at Lahore’s Multan Road exploded. According to local media outlets, “the fire engulfed the factory building after its boiler exploded.” The incident left two dead.

Pakistan Mosque Blast Left 100 Dead

The death toll from the latest suicide bombing at a mosque in Peshawar, Pakistan has risen to 100.

“So far, 100 bodies have been brought to Lady Reading Hospital,” said Mohammad Asim, the spokesman for the largest medical facility in Peshawar. 

The suicide bomber who targeted the mosque was a member of the Pakistani Taliban.
