Social media users recently widely shared a video that allegedly shows a train transporting many tanks through a snowy road in Poland.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar investigated the circulating video and found the claim to be misleading. The video was taken in Kansas, the U.S. not Poland.
Misbar’s team found that the video was shared via Twitter on January 24, 2023.
The user who shared the video also tweeted the location of the video, as can be seen below.
The video also features a green sign that says ““Hwy 40,” which matches the location shared by the user who took the video.
Moreover, Google Maps shows a similar green street sign and a rail line at the intersection of Highway 40 and 400th Avenue.
President Biden Approved Sending Abrams Tanks to Ukraine
The claim was shared after President Biden approved sending 31 Abrams tanks to Ukraine.
"Secretary [Lloyd] Austin has recommended this step because it will enhance the Ukraine's capacity to defend its territory and achieve its strategic objectives," President Biden announced.
According to The New York Times, the decision came after negotiations with the chancellor of Germany and other European leaders.
