A video purportedly showing a camera on an unidentified flying object went viral online.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar investigated the claim and found it to be misleading. The video is Computer Generated and does not feature a real-life phenomenon.
The Video is a Work of Art by Hamid Ebrahimnia
Misbar’s team found that a visual effects artist called Hamid Ebrahimnia created the video. The artist originally posted the clip days ago on Instagram with the caption: “200x zoom on the balloon!” adding the hashtag: #spyballoon.
An Instagram user commented on the video, asking the artist if the footage was authentic. The 3D artist answered the question and said: “No, it is CG. Check my latest highlight to see the breakdown.”
Misbar’s team has reviewed the artist’s story highlights and found that he also shared the process of making the circulating video.
Hamid Ebrahimnia has previously shared several CG videos on his official verified Instagram account.
Unidentified Flying Objects Shot Down Over North America
The claim surfaced after reports on three unidentified flying objects (UFOs) shot down over North America recently. The objects were seen over Alaska, Michigan, and Canada.
Following the incidents, fake imagery went viral online, including a CGI shared as a UFO near the moon, which Misbar debunked.
According to reports, the U.S. and Canadian military do not know the nature and origins of the flying objects. Our blog about this subject found that they have ruled out some possibilities but have not confirmed any hypothesis yet.
American pilots have collected videos of the flying objects before shooting them down. However, the FBI and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will examine the debris in order to determine the objects' nature.
