2021 Pro-Palestine Protests in Detroit

They come after similar demonstrations in recent weeks, in which 10,000 people gathered in Dearborn to protest President Biden's assertion that Israel has the right to defend itself in the situation while 100 people supported Israel in West Bloomfield.

The crowd included people of various races and ethnicities, and several Jews from metro Detroit supported the Palestinian cause.

Recent Israeli Raids on Al-Aqsa Mosque and Gaza

Violence broke out in the early days of the holy month of Ramadan and on the day of the Jewish festival of Passover.

At least 14 Palestinians were injured and hundreds were detained as a result of the Israeli police raid on the al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem, which also led to clashes in the West Bank and cross-border strikes in the Gaza Strip.

Israel also carried out air raids on Gaza City and bombed vacant areas and sites believed to belong to Hamas.

No casualties were reported at the time.
