Lebanon Clarifies the Confusion Regarding the Presence of Sharks
The Head of the Lebanese Civil Defense's Maritime Rescue Unit, Samir Yazbek, has revealed the truth about the appearance of sharks in Lebanese waters.
In a statement on Thursday, Yazbek stated that after conducting patrols, dolphins were spotted, indicating that the Lebanese coast is merely a transit point for sharks as they migrate along the coastline to a distant location. Therefore, they do not come very close to the Lebanese shore.
Yazbek pointed out that sharks may come closer to the shores if there are waste materials on the water's surface or dead fish, as they approach to feed on them before continuing their journey into the depths of the Mediterranean Sea.
