Israel Declares a “State of War”
Israel has declared a "state of war" as intense clashes continue in various areas in southern Israel, following a surprise attack by Hamas. Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for mortar strikes launched from Lebanon into the occupied Shebaa Farms, and Israel has responded with artillery strikes.
The situation is escalating amid growing concerns of a potential ground invasion of Gaza, prompted by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's threat to transform the besieged Palestinian enclave into a "deserted island."
As of the latest reports, health officials state that the death toll among Palestinians has reached 421, while media reports indicate that more than 700 Israelis have been affected by the ongoing conflict.
Hamas's operation followed a series of widespread Israeli settler attacks, heightened tensions at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem, and a record number of Palestinian casualties.
