Misbar investigated the viral footage and found the claim to be misleading.

A thorough reverse image search revealed the video making the rounds to be older than claimed and unrelated to the recent Israel-Gaza war.

The Video Shows Separatist Leaders Arrest in Azerbaijan

Contrary to the viral claim, the video is not recent, and it features the arrest of separatist leaders in Karabakh by Azerbaijan's security agency.

A YouTube channel published the original video on October 5, 2023, two days before the start of the operation. The translated title reads, “Persons organizing the activities of illegal armed groups in Karabakh were arrested.”

On October 5, DTX official channel via YouTube reported that a criminal case is ongoing within the State Security Service, focusing on terrorist activities perpetrated by illegal armed groups in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan. The investigation has revealed that individuals organized and led these armed units.

Israel Continues Bombing the Gaza Strip

These illegal armed groups conducted raids on offices, organizations, and individuals, resulting in fatalities and serious consequences. The individuals are facing charges that pertain to the creation and participation of armed groups not sanctioned by law. The investigation is currently ongoing, with both investigative and operational measures being taken.

Israel has launched one of its largest aerial bombardments of the Gaza Strip. Israel has also announced plans for a "total blockade" on Gaza, including restrictions on food and fuel, raising concerns about a possible ground operation. Such a siege aimed at starving a population is considered a war crime under U.N. statutes.

The current death toll stands at 687 Palestinians in Gaza and more than 800 Israelis, with 17 Palestinians killed in the occupied West Bank and four Hezbollah fighters killed in Israeli shelling in southern Lebanon. Hamas launched a surprise attack following recent Israeli settler incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound and a significant number of Palestinian casualties in recent months caused by Israeli actions.
