Misbar's team of researchers found that the video is from the 2021 conflict, which lasted for 11 days and killed over 250 people.
On May 16, 2021, Israeli occupation forces launched a rocket attack on areas in the Gaza Strip. The resistance in Gaza responded by launching missiles towards Tel Aviv.
Israel and Hamas War Escalates, With Over 1,700 Dead
The conflict between Israel and Hamas has escalated in recent days, with over 1,700 people killed. On Tuesday, Israel's military said it had regained control of the Gaza-Israel border after Hamas launched a surprise attack on southern Israel. The attack was the deadliest against Israel in decades.
Israel has responded with airstrikes all over the Gaza Strip, targeting Hamas military positions and other infrastructure. Israel has also imposed a complete blockade on Gaza, cutting off all supplies of water, electricity, and food to the already impoverished and blockaded population of roughly 2.3 million people.
Hamas claims to be holding some 150 Israeli hostages, but this has not been independently verified. The U.S. and other governments are working to determine the number of foreign hostages in Hamas' captivity.
The death toll from the ongoing violence has passed 1,700, with over 900 killed and 2,700 injured in Israel and at least 830 people killed and 4,250 injured in Gaza.
