Footage from Egypt Shared as Palestinians Parachuting into Israel

Misbar investigated the viral footage and found the claim to be misleading.

After conducting a thorough reverse image search, Misbar’s team found the footage to be unrelated to the ongoing escalation.

The Video Shows Parachute Activity in Egypt, Not Palestine

Contrary to the viral claim, the video clip shows people parachuting in Egypt in September.
A TikTok user uploaded the original video on September 27. 

After the footage went viral, the same user published the video with a comment stating that the video is not from Palestine.

At the beginning of the operation, a similar video showing people parachuting into Israel was shared on social media. However, the video is misleading, and it was shot in Egypt.

What Is Happening in Gaza?

The hospitals in Gaza are facing significant challenges as the Israeli military sustains its bombardment of the Gaza Strip. This offensive began four days after Hamas initiated a major attack involving rockets and fighters into Israel, known as the Al-Aqsa Flood. There are reports suggesting that the Israeli military targeted areas close to the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula.

The Palestinian health ministry and the World Health Organization (WHO) are jointly calling for the establishment of a humanitarian corridor to ensure the urgent entry of medical aid into Gaza's overwhelmed hospitals.

Israeli occupation forces killed more than 830 Palestinians in Gaza. Also, over 900 individuals in Israel have been confirmed dead during the escalation. Hamas's surprise attack on Saturday followed recent incursions by Israeli settlers into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound and a significant number of Palestinian casualties caused by Israel in recent months.
