Old Behind-the-Scenes Video Claimed to Show Palestinians Faking Injuries

Misbar investigated the circulating video and found the claim to be misleading. 

The Video Shows Actors in Gaza Back in 2017

Misbar's team found that the video dates back to Mar 2, 2017 published by TRT World, showing Palestinian makeup artist Mariam Saleh's work as a female special effects makeup artist in Gaza's film industry.

The video is for a film set in the Gaza Strip, where the makeup artist Maryam Salah created horrific looking injuries on actors taking part in a project the French charity "Doctors of the World."

The foundation’s description reads: “Doctors of the World is a global organization that provides urgent and long-term medical care to people in need. We stay after the crisis has passed and the media has moved on, helping to build better healthcare systems. We seek out and advocate for those who are most vulnerable to health problems, and we address the root causes of illness.”

Israel Warns Northern Gaza Residents to Evacuate as Retaliatory Offensive Intensifies

The Israeli military has issued a warning to 1.1 million residents in northern Gaza, urging them to leave their homes. This comes amidst indications that Israel is planning to escalate its retaliatory offensive against Hamas, following the group's terrorist attacks on October 7 which resulted in the deaths of 1,300 individuals.

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza is worsening, with concerns of people facing the risk of starvation. The Palestinian health ministry reports that nearly 1,800 people have already lost their lives in Gaza. The Israel Forces stated that Israeli troops conducted local operations in Gaza in order to eliminate the threat of terrorism and locate any hostages. As a result, Gazans are preparing for the possibility of a large-scale ground operation.
