2020 Beirut Explosion Video Resurfaced After Operation Al-Aqsa Flood

Misbar investigated the claim and found it to be misleading.

Misbar’s team found that the video dates back to 2020, showing the explosion in the port of Beirut, Lebanon. 

Back in August 2020, the video was posted online by several channels and pages, as can be seen below.

The 2020 Beirut Port Explosion

On Tuesday, August 4, 2020, two massive explosions hit Beirut one after the other, killing at least 218 people and injuring over 7,000, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health. The explosions devastated the city's port and the surrounding areas, causing billions of dollars in damage.

The explosions were caused by a fire that started in a warehouse storing 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate, a highly explosive fertilizer. The fire quickly spread, igniting the ammonium nitrate, which caused the two massive explosions.

The explosions were the largest non-nuclear explosions ever recorded in the Middle East. They caused a shockwave that was felt throughout the city and beyond, shattering windows and damaging buildings. The explosions also created a massive mushroom cloud that could be seen from miles away.
