The violent riot erupted in an immigrant neighborhood following an incident where an anti-Muslim protester attempted to burn the Quran. The police reported being targeted and witnessed numerous cars being set ablaze. Demonstrators and counter-protesters clashed violently in Örebro, Sweden, ahead of a far-right group's plan to burn a Quran. Twelve police officers were injured and four police vehicles were set on fire.

The death toll has risen to nearly 2,000, with countless more injured. The lack of essential services, including power, water, and fuel, has added to the crisis. The dwindling food supplies and overwhelmed hospitals, running out of medicine, further exacerbate the dire circumstances.
