Over 9000 People Killed During Sudan's Ongoing Conflict
After six months of war, the conflict between the Sudan's military and the Rapid Support Forces resulted in the deaths of around 9,000 individuals, leading to what the United Nations humanitarian chief described as "one of the worst humanitarian nightmares in recent history."
Sudan has been in a state of turmoil since mid-April when long-standing tensions between military leader Gen. Abdel-Fattah Burhan and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces' commander, Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, escalated into a full-blown armed conflict.
Israel to Intensify Airstrikes on Gaza
Since October 7, Israeli airstrikes have killed at least 4,385 Palestinian casualties in Gaza. Israel is reportedly planning to intensify its strikes on Gaza in preparation for a ground invasion, which they consider to be the "next stage" of their conflict with Hamas.
Red Crescent trucks carrying food and medicines, but not fuel, have started entering Gaza from Egypt. However, aid organizations argue that the 20-truck aid delivery is insufficient, and the absence of fuel in these shipments raises concerns, as fuel is essential for powering water pumps and generators crucial for the operation of vital facilities like hospitals.
Approximately 2,000 demonstrators gathered at the Washington Monument in Washington, DC, where they delivered speeches and offered prayers for peace. This march occurred within the context of ongoing, almost daily protests in the United States, showing solidarity with the people of Gaza.
