Emerging story
Israeli social media pages and accounts circulated a video clip, alleging that it was shot on October 7. According to the claim, the video shows individuals affiliated with the Hamas movement killing a pregnant woman and killing her fetus during their Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.
Brooke Goldstein, a human rights attorney, also shared the video on social media platforms. She accompanied it with a warning comment that stated, "This is the worst video I have ever seen in my life. This is what Palestinian Hamas Nazis do to a pregnant woman."
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar's team conducted a thorough investigation and found that the video circulating widely is outdated and has no connection to Hamas or Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.
Video Shot in Mexico in 2017, No Links to Hamas
The video has been taken from a previously recorded clip that had been published on a Mexican website back in 2018 under the title "Terrifying Video Where Killers El Mayo Zambada Removed Someone's Heart and Beheaded Another Person."
The original video shows a gruesome incident involving the torture of a young man and the removal of his heart, as well as the apparent killing of another person after the torture. Recently, the video's publishers concealed the source watermark by resizing the video frame and obscuring the source details, while also altering the video's description to hide its original context.
The video dates back to January 17, 2018, and it features a criminal act committed by the Mexican organization "La Guardia Guerrerense."
Upon closer examination, we found that the edited clip includes a version of a witness account, which Misbar traced back to a report by the i24 News outlet titled "Israeli rescue service commander recounts Hamas atrocities."
In this report, Yossi Landau, a member of the Israeli rescue operation "ZAKA," describes the aftermath of a Hamas operation in Ashdod. At the 2:44-minute mark in the report, Landau recounts a separate incident where they found the body of a woman allegedly killed by Hamas. He described the woman as lying on her stomach with a gunshot wound to her back and her belly open, with a baby tied to her cord, and with a knife wound. However, it is important to note that the report did not include any supporting images to support the Israeli Rescue Service member's claims.
Israel's False Accusations of Hamas Targeting Israeli Children
Misbar previously debunked false claims circulated by Israeli accounts, pages, and media outlets. One notable case involved the i24 channel reporting a fabricated story about Hamas resistance fighters allegedly massacring 40 Israeli infants. Misbar later confirmed this news to be entirely baseless.
Israeli accounts also shared a video claiming that it showed targeted Israeli children by Hamas. Misbar's investigation found that this video did not involve an Israeli infant abducted during "Operation Al-Aqsa Flood." Moreover, there was a claim suggesting that Israeli children were being held by Hamas in cages, but it was determined that the video was shot before October 7 and had no connection to the Hamas movement.
In the ongoing Israeli-Gaza war, Israel has killed more than 5,791 Palestinian civilians with around 2,500 children among the victims. Within the last 24 hours, 704 people lost their lives in Israeli air raids.
