After conducting a thorough investigation, Misbar's team found that the flags which were used in the demonstrations belonged to the Welfare Party Kerala, and the protesters in the solidarity march with Gaza did not carry Italian flags instead of Palestinian flags.

On October 17, 2023, in the state of Kerala, members of the Welfare Party took part in various solidarity events supporting the Gaza Strip, proudly waving their party’s flags.

The official account of the “Welfare Party Kerala” on platform X has shared images matching those from the viral video. The post’s caption mentioned that the Welfare Party is staging a protest in support of Palestine.

The Welfare Party of India (WPI), established in 2011, is an Indian political party dedicated to participating in elections and promoting "value-based politics" throughout the country. The party maintains a nationwide presence, with committees at both the state and district levels.

A UN Security Council Emergency Meeting Regarding the Gaza Strip

During an emergency meeting of the U.N. Security Council on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for a 'humanitarian ceasefire' in the Gaza Strip. Additionally, Guterres emphasized that Hamas' attacks do not justify the mass killings occurring in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement on social media, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that at least 5,791 Palestinians, including 2,360 children, had been killed by Israeli bombardments since October 7, 2023.
