Misbar investigated the circulating video and found the claim to be misleading.

The 2016 Video Was Taken in Syria, Not in Gaza

Misbar's team found that the video dates back to 2016 and was shot in Syria.

The video has been taken from a previously recorded clip that was uploaded by AMC Media Production on their YouTube channel under the title of “Moments that document the crime the airstrike that targeted Omar bin Abdulaziz Hospital in mid-July.”

The recording shows footage captured by surveillance cameras in the corridors of Omar bin Abdulaziz Hospital.

At the time, it was targeted by Syrian regime aircraft in mid-month of July 2016. Omar bin Abdulaziz Hospital in the Maadi neighborhood of Aleppo city was bombed by the Syrian regime in mid-month, causing material damage and injuring patients and medical staff.

Omar bin Abdulaziz Hospital was hit by at least three airstrikes over a period of 45 days in June and July.

The third and most destructive attack, which injured a number of staff, took place on July 16 and reportedly involved a barrage of barrel bombs followed by Russian airstrikes.

Gaza Health Crisis Worsens Amidst Israeli Airstrikes

During a press conference in Jerusalem, Philippe Lazzarini, the commissioner general for UNRWA, the U.N. relief and works agency for Palestinian people, shed light on the deteriorating situation.

Lazzarini expressed deep concern over the crumbling state of basic services, shortage of medicine, and scarcity of food and water in Gaza. He further revealed that the streets of Gaza were now overwhelmed with sewage, posing a significant health hazard with the looming risk of diseases.

Israel refused to allow fuel into Gaza, citing allegations that Hamas had stolen fuel from the U.N. for military purposes. Lazzarini disclosed that this has compelled UNRWA to drastically limit fuel consumption.

He expressed anguish over the difficult decisions forced upon the humanitarian workers, who had to prioritize the allocation of limited fuel resources. Choices had to be made regarding supporting bakeries, water stations, or life support machines in hospitals, all of which require fuel to function.

Lazzarini strongly emphasized that UNRWA has implemented a robust monitoring mechanism to ensure aid is not diverted. He firmly stated that the agency does not and will not allow humanitarian assistance to fall into the wrong hands.

Denying the allegations of fuel theft by Hamas, he expressed his distress over the constant questioning of humanitarian aid, which he believes is a fundamental right, while despair continues to be witnessed by the world.

On Thursday, the Gaza health ministry announced a devastating toll of 7,028 Palestinian casualties, including 2,913 children, as a result of the Israeli airstrikes over a period of nearly three weeks. The ministry published a comprehensive 212-page report containing the names and identification numbers of each Palestinian who they assert has fallen victim to the Israeli bombardment.
