The Claim

Palestinian media is using false video of dead people from bombings in Gaza.

Emerging story

A recent video that went viral on social media claims that Palestinian media is using false video of dead people from bombings in Gaza, but the dead people are actually alive. The video shows people who are supposedly dead scratching themselves.

The video has also been shared by Now 14, a commercial television channel owned by Israeli Jewish channel ltd, on their TV channel and posted on their X account with the claim of revealing Palestinian propaganda

Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar investigated the circulating video and found the claim to be misleading. 

Misbar's team found that the video is outdated and unrelated to the recent war on Gaza. The video dates back to 2013 in Egypt and is not linked to the Israeli war on Gaza.

The Video Does Not Show Palestinians Staging Death 

According to Elbadeil Journal through a YouTube video published by their channel, the video was for a funeral demonstration of students from the Muslim Brotherhood at Al-Azhar University in Egypt.

They added in the description that dozens of students from the Muslim Brotherhood at Al-Azhar University organized a large demonstration in front of the college administration building. Students from the boys' and girls' marches joined forces in a single march that met between the buildings of the Faculty of Medicine and Engineering next to the headquarters of Al-Azhar University, after touring the university campus to rally students and disrupt classes. The marches then headed to the Faculty of Engineering.
