Misbar investigated the claim and found it to be misleading, as the video is outdated and does not depict the prisoners captured by the Al-Qassam Brigades after the Battle of Beit Hanoun in Gaza Strip.
Ten u.s. Navy Soldiers Were Arrested by Iran in 2016
The video dates back to January 2016, when the Iranian Revolutionary Guard arrested 10 U.S. Navy soldiers after they “inadvertently” entered Iranian territorial waters before being released.
The 10 American sailors were released by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard after it announced that the U.S. had apologized to Iran for the unintentional mishap. The United States expressed its gratitude to Iran for swiftly settling the issue. At that time, the Secretary of State John Kerry stated that he wanted to “express his gratitude to the Iranian authorities for their prompt cooperation in resolving this problem.”
Clashes in Northern Gaza Between Palestinian Resistance Groups and Israeli Forces
The video went viral after the Palestinian resistance stated that it had ambushed Israeli occupation forces who had penetrated into Gaza and battled with them in many spots, Tuesday, October 31, coinciding with the ongoing Israeli shelling of Gaza Strip.
The Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced on Tuesday, October 31, that it opened fire from one of their ambushes towards Israeli vehicles infiltrating west of the Al-Tawam, northwest of Gaza Strip, targeting three Israeli vehicles.
The Al-Quds Brigades announced that they targeted a gathering of invading occupation vehicles in the Al-Atatra neighborhood in northern Gaza Strip with mortar shells, as well as an invading tank east of the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood using Al-Yassin 105 shell.
