Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar investigated the claim and found it to be misleading, as the video is outdated and dates back to last October. Also, it does not depict the attack of Hamas members on innocent residents’ houses in Gaza, or the abduction of young individuals to coerce them into participating in the war as human shields.

The Raid on a Journalist’s House in Al-Mukalla, a Yemeni City

Misbar's team found that the circulating video was posted on a social media platform since October 3, which allegedly depicts Hadhrami Elite Forces personnel entering a Yemeni journalist's home in Al-Mukalla, within the Hadhramaut Governorate of Yemen. Local human rights organizations report that as a result of this incursion, nine family members, including five minors, were arrested.

Israeli Allegations of Hamas Using Civilians as Human Shields

The video went viral in the context of Israeli allegations that Hamas uses Gazan civilians as human shields. Israel alleges that this happens either by placing military assets in residential areas or by preventing inhabitants from evacuating from the northern to the southern part of the Gaza Strip. These accusations are made repeatedly but are consistently denied by Hamas. However, Israel has not presented any evidence to support these claims.
