The video clip is old and does not show Palestinian resistance fighters targeting Israeli Merkava tanks during the latest war.

The Video Shows a Destroyed Syrian Tank 

The video clip dates back to January 2013, during the clashes between Free Syrian Army fighters and the Syrian regime’s soldiers in Darayya. Katibat al-Miqdad bin Amr [Al-Miqdad bin Amr Brigade] was present there as part of the Ansar al-Islam coalition in Syria and destroyed a tank of the regime’s armed forces, using an anti-tank grenade at the time.

Al-Qassam Brigades Destroying Israeli Military Vehicles

A claim began to spread on November 8 after the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades posted a video clip showing the targeting and destruction of several Israeli occupation vehicles and squads of troops with mortars in crucial positions in northern and southern Gaza.

The video clip showed mortars being fired upon what may be a squad of Israeli soldiers and anti-tank mortars being fired on tanks and military vehicles from a close distance, targeting occupation forces entrenched in one of the city’s buildings with Al-Yasin 105 RPGs and targeting a military vehicle with a Konkurs guided missile.

Abu Obaida Announces That 136 Israeli Military Vehicles Were Destroyed

Afterwards, Abu Obaida, the  military spokesman for Al-Qassam Brigades, announced that 136 Israeli military vehicles have been totally destroyed or partially destroyed since the Israeli ground assault was launched. Abu Obaida referenced Al-Qassam Brigades’ continuance to “confronting and fighting the enemy in all crucial ground positions in the north, northwest, and south of Gaza,” confirming that sniper rifles continue to target soldiers and artillery continues to raze fortifications.
