Northern Ireland Opposition Leader Calls for Expulsion of Israeli Ambassador
Mary Lou Macdonald, the leader of Sinn Féin party in Northern Ireland, has urged her country's government to expel the Israeli ambassador and refer Israel to the International Criminal Court. She condemned Israel's actions as barbaric, brutal, and war crimes.
During her speech, Macdonald emphasized, “The Palestinian people deserve a homeland after enduring egregious human rights violations, racial segregation, oppression, occupation, all of which should deeply trouble our collective conscience. I want the hell that is raining down on Gaza to stop. Gaza is currently experiencing a relentless onslaught, resulting in the tragic loss of children's lives every 10 minutes. Despite Israel's claim of self-defense, its actions target civilians and impose collective punishment. Slaughtering thousands of children is not self-defense."
Macdonald added, “Israel must not be permitted to commit such atrocities without facing consequences. Our government must act decisively by referring Israel to the International Criminal Court and expelling the Israeli Ambassador.”
