The Israeli activist Edy Cohen, along with other accounts, posted a video on the X platform on Wednesday, November 15, claiming to show Israeli occupation soldiers inside Hamas tunnels during the ongoing war in the Gaza strip.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar investigated the circulating claim and found it to be misleading, as the footage is old and does not depict Israeli army forces inside Hamas movement tunnels in the Gaza Strip.
An Old Hideout in Sweden
Misbar's team found that the video, published on YouTube in October 2022, purported to document an old transmitter facility hideout in Sweden, likely dating back to the Cold War.
Misbar also found similar videos on YouTube that were published some time ago, including content resembling the elements shown in the video published by Cohen. Additionally, accounts interested in ancient civilization discoveries have posted videos from the same time period, depicting underground shelters.
Israeli Army Storms Al-Shifa Hospital
The video was shared more than 40 days after the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip began, and a few days after Al-Shifa hospital was encircled. The Israeli army previously claimed that the Hamas leadership is located in tunnels beneath this Al-Shifa Medical Complex.
The Israeli occupation army stormed Al-Shifa hospital on Wednesday, November 15, claiming they were targeting Hamas in a specific area of the medical complex, which still harbors thousands of civilians who fled inside it, along with injured people, medical staff, premature babies and patients in need of dialysis. The Israeli army did not announce the discovery of any tunnels within the complex. However, they published pictures of some weapons they claimed their soldiers found inside the hospital.
The Israeli Occupation Bombs Areas Sheltering Evacuees in Southern Gaza
The Israeli occupation army continues to bomb several areas of the Gaza strip. On Thursday, November 16, the bombings specifically targeted a petrol station where people had sought shelter after evacuating from the Al-Maghazi camp in central Gaza. This location is considered by the Israeli army to be a safe zone due to its positioning south of Wadi Gaza. The bombing killed at least 9 people.
The Interior Ministry in Gaza reported that occupation army helicopters are firing at the homes of inhabitants east of Khan Younis, in southern Gaza. This area was also advised by Israel as a safe zone for inhabitants from Gaza City and the northern areas to flee to.
