Misbar investigated the circulating video and found it to be misleading. The video is from a pro-Palestinian demonstration in London that occurred before the dismissal of the British Home Secretary, Suella Braverman, rather than after.

Video Emerges From a Pro-Palestinian Demonstration in London

An account on TikTok named "pav.videos" has posted a video claiming it was from a pro-Palestinian demonstration in London on the morning of November 5, just days before the British Home Secretary was dismissed.

The footage features police officers, most of them wearing yellow vests, marching alongside protesters raising flags and banners in support of Palestine.

On the same day, Misbar discovered news reports detailing clashes between London police and pro-Palestinian protesters after the conclusion of a pro-Gaza demonstration in Trafalgar Square.

No news has been found regarding any police demonstrations in support of Palestine in Britain, either before or after the minister's dismissal.

On November 13, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak decided to dismiss Suella Braverman from her position as Home Secretary after she criticized the police’s handling of pro-Palestinian protests in London.

The BBC reported that the decision was prompted by Braverman's article condemning what she described as "police leniency with pro-Palestinian protesters compared to the strictness applied to right-wing protesters.”

In an article published in The Times on November 8, Braverman asserted that “London’s streets are polluted with hatred, violence, and anti-Semitism" and called for a "firmer stance" against pro-Palestinian protesters.

Sunak decided to appoint James Cleverly, the Foreign Secretary in his Cabinet, as the new Home Secretary, replacing Braverman. Additionally, he assigned David Cameron to assume the role of Foreign Secretary, succeeding Cleverly.

British Police Arrested Protesters for Hate Crimes

On November 8, the British police announced the arrest of 188 individuals for hate and violence-related offenses connected to the protests in the capital, since the events of October 7.

Among these crimes, there are "98 suspected antisemitic offenses, 21 crimes related to Islamophobia, and 12 others believed to be religious hate crimes." Additionally, there are "57 crimes related to public order, many of which have a racist nature."
