Emerging story
A widely shared video claims to show Palestinian prisoners being released in exchange for the Israeli hostages.

Misbar’s team found that the video was published on October 8, 2023 and not related to hostage release operations.
This Video Is Unrelated to the 39 Freed Palestinian Prisoners From Israeli Jails
The video dates back to October 8, where it was posted on TikTok, more than one month before the four-day truce that began on Friday November 24, as can be seen below:
First Truce After 48 Days of War and Bombardment on Gaza Strip
After weeks long negotiations, Hamas and Israel reached an agreement for a brief ceasefire that began on Friday morning, followed by hostage and prisoner swap.
Israel freed 39 Palestinians from prison. As for Hamas, 24 were released out of the 240 hostages. Thirteen Israelis, 10 Thais and a Filipino. The first Israeli hostages released included nine women and four children ages 9 and under. They were taken to Israeli hospitals for observation and were declared later to be in good condition.
Under the truce agreement, Hamas will release one Israeli hostage for every three prisoners freed. Moreover with the truce deal comes increased shipments of fuel and supplies into Gaza. The Palestinian Red Crescent said 61 trucks carrying food, water and medical supplies headed to Gaza on Saturday, the largest aid convoy to reach the area for the first time in over a month.
