Ongoing Israeli Bombings in Gaza Amidst Critical Delays and Assaults on Injured Palestinians
Israel has persisted in its airstrikes on Gaza while fierce fighting continued on Tuesday. Hamas reported clashes occurring in central Gaza, and witnesses have recounted deadly Israeli attacks in the southern part of the territory. Palestinians who have been injured during the ongoing war in Gaza are facing potentially life-threatening delays in receiving treatment within the coastal strip, as well as obstacles in being evacuated abroad, all due to Israeli bureaucracy and military checkpoints.
The United Nations and aid organizations have expressed concern over these delays. Additionally, the World Health Organization (WHO) claimed that Palestinian ambulance staff involved in a recent high-risk evacuation were allegedly detained at gunpoint, subjected to physical assault, and stripped by Israeli soldiers. Since October 7, an estimated 50,000 Palestinians have been injured in the two months of Israeli military operations, with the Palestinian health ministry reporting a death toll of 18,412 people.
