Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar investigated the circulating video and found the claim to be misleading.

Misbar's team found that the video was recorded in May 2020 during a Black Lives Matter protest in Tulsa, Oklahoma, which took place in response to the tragic death of George Floyd.

According to Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler, the protesters were initially given a designated route by the Tulsa Police Department for their demonstration. However, they chose to disregard the assigned path and occupied the highway, obstructing the flow of traffic.

During this time, a Dodge pickup truck pulling a horse trailer attempted to navigate through the crowd, resulting in several protesters physically attacking the vehicle. In response, the truck accelerated and drove through the crowd.

Three individuals reported sustaining injuries during the incident. The truck was occupied by a family of four, including a man, his wife, and their two children. The family expressed feeling fearful for their safety throughout the ordeal.

Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler has announced that no criminal charges have been filed against the driver of the truck involved in the incident. The incident took place on May 31, when a large group of protesters gathered on Interstate 244 to protest the death of George Floyd, a man who died while in Minneapolis police custody.

Israeli Sniper Kills Two Women Inside Holy Family Parish

According to a statement from the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, overseeing Catholic churches in Cyprus, Jordan, Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank, two women were shot and killed by an Israeli Forces sniper inside the Holy Family Parish in Gaza on Saturday.

The majority of Christian families in Gaza had sought refuge inside the parish since the war began. The victims, identified as a mother and daughter, were en route when the incident occurred. Tragically, one woman was fatally shot while attempting to carry the other to safety. Additionally, seven others were wounded in the attack.

The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem further stated that Israel Occupation Forces tanks also targeted the Convent of the Sisters of Mother Teresa, which currently houses 54 disabled individuals and is part of the church's compound. The attack resulted in the destruction of the building's generator, its fuel resources, solar panels, and water tanks. The convent has been rendered uninhabitable due to Israeli rockets.
