Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar investigated the circulating video and found the claim to be misleading.
The Video Is From a Music Clip That Dates Back to 2019
Misbar's team found that the video is from a music clip by the Lebanese band “Mashrou Leila'' under the name "Cavalry." The video depicts Israeli Soldiers taking over an old man's land and cutting off his olive tree and then they arrest him, after that a group of Palestinian children confront the soldiers.
The video aims to reflect the reality of how Israeli forces enter homes and conduct arbitrary searches and arrest Palestinians. In a statement posted on Facebook the band explained that the song is about “putting up a fight, even when the odds are stacked against us, and not letting political fatigue destroy our willingness to speak truth to power.”
The music video pays tribute to Palestinian children asserting their rights in the face of occupation forces every day. “Cavalry” portrays the injustices of Israeli military forces and those who resist them.
