Houthi Rebels Plan Celebrations Aboard Seized Vessel Following Yemen's Junior Football Team Victory

Yemen's Houthis are making arrangements to commemorate the triumph of the country's junior national football team on the Galaxy Leader vessel, which was seized by the rebels last month and has links to Israel. The Al-Ahmar Al-Yamani team from Yemen emerged victorious in the West Asian Federation Junior Championship final held in Oman, defeating Saudi Arabia on penalty kicks after a 1-1 draw.

Mohamed Ali al-Houthi, a member of the Supreme Political Council and former leader of Yemen's Houthi Supreme Revolutionary Committee, announced that the Houthi-run Ministry of Youth and Sports was making preparations to celebrate upon the team's return. As part of the festivities, one of the celebrations will take place on the cargo ship, where Yemeni and Palestinian flags will be raised, as mentioned in a post on X. Al-Houthi stated, "The preparations will be done in a manner that befits the team, and it can also serve as an honoring event for them, if they so desire."
