Misbar investigated the claim and found it to be misleading. The video is outdated, depicting an Israeli airstrike targeting the Hamad Towers in southern Gaza during the ongoing war on Gaza, not an Israeli target in Lebanon.
Israeli Airstrike on Hamad Towers in Southern Gaza
The video was published on December 2, 2023, capturing an Israeli airstrike targeting the Hamad buildings in southern Gaza. It circulated across various pages and accounts on social media platforms.
According to news reports, six residential towers in Khan Yunis city, located east of Gaza and known as the Hamad Towers, were destroyed. The Israeli targeting led to the deaths of several individuals, along with the displacement of hundreds of Palestinian citizens.
Two Australians Reported Killed in Lebanon
On Tuesday, December 26, news reports confirmed that two Australians, Ibrahim Bazzi and his brother Ali, were killed in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon. Ibrahim's Lebanese wife, Shorouk Hammoud, was also among those killed. Sources from Lebanon's security and other local authorities confirmed that all three individuals, identified by Middle Eastern media, lost their lives when the airstrike hit a residence in the Al-Dawra neighborhood.
