The scene is from an episode of "The Simpsons" that aired in 1990, titled "They Saved Lisa's Brain," where Stephen Hawking is depicted inventing a method to fly using his wheelchair.
The episode revolves around "Springfield," a fictional city whose inhabitants are at odds over its governance. Each member unilaterally enforces laws without consulting others. Hawking visits "Springfield" to inspect a recent experiment in communal utopia initiated by a local branch of Mensa (for high-IQ individuals), led by citizens who deem themselves more intelligent than the rest, including a girl named Lisa. According to The Independent newspaper, Hawking visited Epstein's private island in the Caribbean Sea once to attend a conference in 2006.
The newspaper reported that Hawking secured a trip on a specialized submarine. It mentioned that he, along with other theoretical physicists, attended a gravity conference on a nearby island funded by Epstein.
