Meanwhile, the Israeli army announced on Saturday, January 6, the killing of a new officer within its ranks and the severe injury of another during battles in the northern Gaza Strip.
The Israeli army stated, "In battles in northern Gaza, Lieutenant Colonel Roy Yushai Yosef Mardikhai, 31, from Tel Aviv, was killed. He was a commander at the Nahal Brigade training base."
