The U.S. Conducts Additional Strikes on Houthi Targets in Yemen

According to an announcement from United States Central Command (CENTCOM), the U.S. has executed additional airstrikes against Houthi targets in Yemen. The recent operation, occurring on Thursday, specifically aimed at a small number of anti-ship missiles in the process of launch, as detailed in the CENTCOM statement.

The statement clarified that U.S. forces identified the missiles in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen around 3:40 p.m. (Sanaa time) and deemed them an immediate threat to merchant vessels and U.S. Navy ships in the region. In response to this imminent danger, U.S. forces took swift action, successfully neutralizing the missiles.

This recent strike marks the fifth instance within a week that the U.S. has conducted operations against the Houthi group. The series of actions began with joint strikes by the U.S. and the UK on approximately 30 targets the previous Thursday.
