The Video Predates The Drone Attack on Russia
Misbar's team found that the video dates back to October 2018 at a fireworks facility located on the outskirts of St. Petersburg.
According to a KP article, there was an explosion at a fireworks factory near St. Petersburg on October 19, which resulted in the death of at least four individuals and several others being injured. The Avangard factory in Gatchina, located 25 kilometers south of St. Petersburg, was the site of the explosion, as confirmed by regional authorities on October 20.
An emergency services source cited by the Russian state-run TASS news agency stated that three out of the four deceased individuals were foreigners, including at least one person from Belarus. Initially, authorities reported two fatalities and multiple injuries. However, TASS later reported that two more bodies were found under the rubble at the factory.
Ukrainian Drone Strikes Russian Oil Storage Depot, Causing Massive Blaze
These claims spread after a significant fire broke out at an oil storage depot in western Russia on Friday, following an attack by a Ukrainian drone. This incident occurred just before the two-year anniversary of the war, as it appears that Kyiv's forces have extended their assaults onto Russian territory. The drone targeted Klintsy, a city situated approximately 40 miles from the Ukrainian border, resulting in four oil reservoirs, collectively holding 1.6 million gallons, being set ablaze. The local governor and state news agency Tass reported these details.
This strike represents the latest escalation in Ukraine's recent efforts to unsettle Russians and undermine President Vladimir Putin's assertion that life in Russia is proceeding normally leading up to the presidential election on March 17.
