The video captures an incident from January 21, 2019, where a fire broke out on two Tanzanian-flagged commercial ships off the coast of the Crimean Peninsula. At least ten crew members lost their lives in the incident.
According to media reports at that time, safety violations may have been the cause of the fire. The fire quickly spread from the first ship to the second, prompting crew members to jump from it.

The circulation of the claim followed the announcement by the Houthi group in Yemen on January 26 targeting a British oil tanker in the Gulf of Aden with several naval missiles, leading to its ignition.

The Houthis reiterated its commitment to targeting Israeli vessels or those heading to the occupied Palestinian ports until "the aggression stops and food and medicine are allowed into the besieged Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip."
