Misbar investigated the circulating image and found the claim to be misleading.
Misbar's team found that the image dates back to 2014 and was taken from an Israeli satirical film that was released in the same year.
“Zero Motivation” is a dark comedy film from Israel, released in 2014 and directed by Talya Lavie. Premiering at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival, it garnered two awards. In the movie, the story of Zohar and Daffi, two soldiers navigating their way through their mandatory service with the Israeli Forces.
Palestinian Detainee Abuse in Israeli Detention Centers
A recent internal report from the United Nations sheds light on alleged widespread mistreatment of Palestinian detainees in Israeli detention centers. The report, compiled by the U.N. Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), details disturbing practices such as beatings, dog attacks, prolonged use of stress positions, and sexual assault.
Based largely on interviews conducted with Palestinian detainees released at the Kerem Shalom crossing point since December, when UNRWA staff were present to offer humanitarian assistance, the report paints a troubling picture. While just over 1,000 detainees have been released since December, the report estimates that more than 4,000 men, women, and children have been rounded up in Gaza since the onset of the current war.
Israeli Restrictions on Aid Missions to Northern Gaza
The Israeli government permitted only a fraction of the scheduled aid missions by the United Nations and humanitarian partners to access northern Gaza in February, as reported by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) on Thursday.
According to the OCHA statement, out of the 24 planned missions to areas north of Wadi Gaza, only six were facilitated in February. This significant reduction was primarily attributed to an operational halt following an incident on February 5, when a U.N. coordinated food convoy was targeted by Israeli naval fire. The principal relief agency of the United Nations in Gaza reported that on February 5, one of its trucks, awaiting to deliver aid to northern Gaza, was struck by Israeli gunfire.
