Al Jazeera Did Not Fabricate the Truth in Reporting The Flour Massacre Deaths and Injuries

Al Jazeera Did Not Cover Deaths of All Palestinians in “Flour Massacre”

The original video report from Al Jazeera features Palestinian individuals grieving the loss of their loved ones on the targeted trucks, which were en route to provide aid to the besieged Gaza Strip.

Contrary to the viral claim that accused Al Jazeera of altering the truth, the network’s report video did not mention the deaths of all Palestinians near the trucks. 

In contrast to the widely circulated claim alleging that Al Jazeera manipulated the truth, the video report from the network did not specifically address the fatalities of all Palestinians. However, it did report on deaths and injuries in the vicinity of the trucks. 
Al Jazeera English’s official X account published the video report on February 29. The video’s caption reads, “Dozens of Palestinians have been killed or wounded after being shot while waiting for aid in northern Gaza. At least one empty aid truck was used to transport casualties to a nearby hospital.”

Israel Dodges Accountability in “Flour Massacre” Despite Evidence of Involvement

On February 29, Israeli forces opened fire on a gathering of hundreds of Palestinians who were awaiting humanitarian aid on Al-Rashid Street south of Gaza City. According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, this resulted in 120 fatalities and 760 injuries.

Initially, the Israeli occupation army did not deny its involvement in what the Palestinian government media office labeled as a 'horrifying massacre.' However, the Israeli occupation army later adjusted its narrative, offering justifications that suggested both direct and indirect involvement in the incident.

A press release published by the Relief Web on March 7 further affirms Israel's full involvement in the 'Flour Massacre.' Many victims of the incident reportedly suffered injuries from 5.56x45mm NATO bullets, a type of bullet fired from Israeli army weapons. An examination of a sample of 200 deceased and injured victims indicated that they were indeed hit by this type of bullet. The bullets were reportedly discovered and examined at the massacre site, along with shrapnel found in the bodies of the wounded and deceased.
