Misbar's team found that the footage, which dates back to 2022, depicts a Ukrainian military base being struck in the Vinnytsia region.

Upon probing the reports from the Vinnytsia region during the same timeframe, we discovered a report of smoke emanating from a military depot in Kalynivka, located within the Vinnytsia region of Ukraine, following Russian President Vladimir Putin's declaration of a 'Special Military Operation' in Ukraine.

Drone Warfare Escalates Between Russia and Ukraine

The circulation of the claim follows the news that Kyiv has struck Russian refineries and energy facilities, while Russia has reported Ukrainian attempts to breach its borders, which it claims to have repelled. Ukrainian proxies, primarily Russian-speaking, have contested these claims, asserting successful border crossings, a narrative refuted by Russia.

In one of the most significant drone offensives by Ukraine against Russia, Moscow reported downing 25 Ukrainian drones across various Russian regions, including Moscow, Leningrad, Belgorod, Kursk, Bryansk, Tula, and Oryol, with numerous additional attacks documented. Russian authorities have cited attacks on energy infrastructure, such as a fire at Lukoil’s NORSI refinery and the destruction of a drone near Kirishi, home to Russia’s second-largest oil refinery.

Gleb Nikitin, governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, shared a photo of emergency services responding to a blaze at the NORSI refinery, underscoring ongoing efforts to contain the situation.
